Creation
Rules
Vampire
or Mortal (excluding Ascension Mages, Hedge Mages, or otherwise) Characters
only. As a general rule, if you have been allowed to play it in previous
Vampfest, you’ll be allowed to again. But always check to be
sure. Character Creation is BY-THE-BOOK. No Exceptions. Traits must
fall within the limits of a character’s generation and freebie
points/experience points. All submitted character sheets are counted
for correct point expenditure. Rejected character sheets will be returned
to the player for correction, or rejected outright.
General
Rules:
1) Anything that you were allowed to play in a previous Vampfest will
be allowed.
2) Any Trait, Background, Merit, or Flaw that does not appear in a
book that you are playing a character type from is prohibited. (Meaning
that things used in creating a vampire character, must come from Vampire
books) Things coming from The Laws Of The Hunt may be excluded from
this rule, at the discretion of the Lead Storyteller.
3) Generation cap is now at 7 gen, but ONLY with appropriate history.
In the event of too many 7 Gen C apps, the cap will be raised.
3) The
Following are Prohibited:
- CLANS:
Kiasyd, Blood Brothers, Salubri, Nagaraja, True Brujah, Giovanni,
and Kindred Of The East.
- TRAITS:
True Faith, Numina, Arcane and Hedge Mage.
- DISCIPLINES:
Any from Dead Bloodlines or Prohibited Clans.
4) The Following
are Restricted (Meaning they will only be allowed with permission of
the Lead Storyteller):
MERITS & FLAWS: Iron Will, Age, Maturation, Unbondable,
Nine Lives, Luck, Werewolf Companion, Mage Companion, Mummy Companion.
5) Paper-game
Coversions:
For
players wanting to incorporate rituals or disciplines that have
no published MET rules, but appear in the paper-game books, here
is how it is being handled. Most rituals are acceptable to be used
"as-is" from the paper-game rules, with a few exceptions.
I will address these on a case-by-case basis, and will be compiling
a list of those rituals that require some form of conversion, and
those that are not allowed to be converted. For disciplines and
Thaumaturgy paths in paper-game, these all require conversion of
some type. If there is a power, or path that you are wanting to
use in your character that does not have MET rules, please get in
touch with the Lead Storyteller. I will be compiling a file of converted
powers that will become Vampfest custom rules. Below is the list
of what has already been converted, and what I have already ruled
out for conversion, as time goes along, I will update this list.
If you have others that you would like converted, please gfet hold
of me (Bryon).
Converted
Rules:
Setite
Sorcery: Path Of The Dry Nile
Setite Sorcery: The Snake Within
All Setite Sorcery rituals
Select rituals from Abyss Mysticism, and Koldunic Sorcery
Prohibited
Rules:
Koldunic
Sorcery: Way Of The Spirit
We prefer that payers keep their same character from year-to-year
(unless the character is killed), it simplifies storytelling and reduces
abrupt changes in the SL. But any player wanting to change characters
is not barred from doing so.
Contact Bryon (see contact page) for XP from last year, he can email
it to you.
Character Submission Deadline Change:
Oct 1st: Character Sheets and Histories. If you want XP
for your history before Vampfest, your history and character sheet
must be in by this date. Experience Points for histories recieved
after this point will be given with regular experience after the larp.
Oct 15th: Final Submission Deadline. No character sheets
or histories will be accepted after midnight on this date. If
you have not submitted by this point, you will be given a pre-generated
character at Vampfest.
Please note: You do not have to have purchased tickets to submit
characters. Characters and histories can be turned in whether
you have gotten tickets or not. But no history will be accepted
for points without an accompanying character sheet.
Character sheets can be emailed, snail mailed, or given to either
Bryon or Veronica. Bryon is at the Wickliffe Inn every Wednesday
night for a larp there. Information, tickets, and character
submissions can be done there also.
****PLEASE NOTE: Anyone planning on sending character sheets or histories
done on the Grapevine larp program....You must zip those files before
attaching them to e-mail, they will download as corrupted files if
you don't!!!!
