The Ten Demandments Of Vampfest
I: Thou Shalt Have Fun
This is why we are all here, people. Play and enjoy yourselves.
II:
Thou Shalt Not Go Out Of Thy Way To Interfere In The Fun Of Others
This kinda ties into Number One. We all have lives outside of Vampfest.
What we ask is that whatever problems you may have with others who
are participating in these events, please leave them at the door.
This is not a place for those sort of problems.
III:
Thou Shalt Not Bring Alcohol or Drugs To Vampfest
This is an alcohol and drug free event. Violators are subject to immediate
removal from the game.
IV:
Thou Shalt Not Cause Damage To The Hosting Facility
Live-action players (as a group) have a bad reputation a lot of times.
Which can make these events hard to put together. Please take care
of the place we gather in, so that we will be welcome to return again.
V:
Thou Shalt Not Meta-Game
This is an iron-clad rule implemented at last year's event. Any instance
of meta-gaming is to be reported to the Lead Storyteller. The instance
must be witnessed by two players, or one member of the Storytelling
Staff. The offender will then be called before the Lead Storyteller
to explain what happened. If the offender can convince the Lead Storyteller
that it was a mistake, the offender will be granted one reprieve,
and only one. A second offense (during the same event) results in
immediate, and permanent removal from the game. We do understand that
unintentional Meta-gaming does happen once in a while, if this is
the case, it should be resolved immediately between the players, making
Storyteller involvement unnecessary.
VI:
Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness Against Thy Fellow Players
The requirement that there be two players reporting instances of Meta-gaming
is an attempt to keep this sort of thing from happening. We don't
want anyone trumping up trouble to get someone else removed. Please
be honest.
VII:
Thou Shalt Report Any Problems Encountered
Every year that I have been involved in Vampfest, I have heard about
there being problems of various sorts with people not involved in
Vampfest, but that were in the same area that game was taking place
in. The problem with this is that I was not hearing about these problems
until 2 months after the event was over for that year. I cannot do
anything about things I do not know are happening. Any problems you
encounter with patrons at the hotel, or even with players or staff
members should be reported to a member of Security immediately. If,
for whatever reason, they are unable to deal with the problem to your
satisfaction, find the Lead Storyteller.
VIII:
Thou Shalt Not Argue The Decision Of The Presiding Narrator Or Storyteller
Decisions of the Narrator or Storyteller running a scene are final.
Any dispute can be discussed, and a decision made once the scene is
finished
IX:
Thou Shalt Not Change Rules In Mid-Scene
Unless changing is unavoidable, the narrator that begins a Scene should
always be the one to finish it. Anytime that changing narrators is
required, the rules that were implemented by the beginning narrator
or storyteller are the rules that the scene must be completed by.
X:
Thou Shalt Bring All Suggestions And Disputes To The Storytelling
Staff
If you have a suggestion for improving the game, or have a dispute
with a ruling or rule that is being used in game, feel free to bring
it to the attention of one of the narrators or storytellers. We want
to hear from the players as to how to make Vampfest better every year.
